FURNITURE!We are a small family firm - the Durbin family - we believe strongly in inclusive education, and endeavour to design our play equipment to reflect the differing needs of all children. Our principal area of work is play equipment and furniture for children under 5 years old in supervised educational and play settings. We use the best, safest, hygenic, materials available and select the "greenest" options we can. We strive to make sure that our designs incorporate the values and goals of contemporary working teachers and therapists and that what we do is informed by what is going on day to day in the real world of childcare and education. The original Playring and Giant Playring designs are by Catherine M. O'Neill, who subsequently designed the Galt Baby Nest, which inspired Tomy's 100 Acre Wood Baby Nest and Gym. Catherine is an author and practicing speech and art therapist. Developments of the "Playring Rings" and the Sensory mats are collaborative design projects between Catherine, Andrew Durbin and Andrew's daughter, Natalie, both experienced educational soft play equipment designers. Andrew and Natalie have designed the rest of the Life-Ed and Playring ranges (mirrors, stickers, furniture, room divider screens and soft play). Daughters Hayley Durbin (Lifetime Ed's customer services manager), Hannah Durbin (speech therapist), Alice Durbin and wife Rosemary Durbin (local county council Inclusion Support Service) all form an important part of the company's design quality and review board. Our gym products are all assessed and used by Sylvia Crewe, PE teacher and BAGA instructor.
